Nate does have a pec tear and it kept him from throwing and taking snaps after the first week. Unfortunately, I was out of town for the first week of practice so I can't comment on his performance. Riley ranged from below average to above average throughout the spring; he was never terrible, but he was never nearly as good as we saw in the AF bowl. Mansion struggled, especially early on. He was learning the entire play book and running our offense for the first time, since he ran the scout team last fall, and he looked like a guy who was taking in a lot of information and thinking too much. He improved throughout the spring, and he definitely has the tools (arm, legs) to be very good.

Spazzy, Ezeff didn't stand out to me this spring, and I was looking for him because I felt he was our best DB in the early part of last season before he got hurt. Even if you took away his miraculous hit/forced fumble on Colvin (and overlook the late hit earlier that game), he was having a great season before he went down.

One reason he may not have stood out in the spring was because most of the emphasis for the DBs was on pass defense, and he is a better tackler than a coverage guy. The DBs who DID stand out to me were Syd, Amadi, and Jesse Brooks, in that order.

Does Nate have a pectoral tear or something that is keeping him from practicing? How are Riley and Mansion looking? If you have the time I would love to know. Thanks.

Vote Riley 2008 - Real Change - Endorsed by Barack Obama!

Longshore - The typical washed up quarterback who has been in Strawberry Canyon too long. Time to take back Washingt... err, Strawberry Canyon!

I haven't really heard much about Ezeff during spring practice. What is the story with him? Did he have a good spring?

I smell a marketing opportunity! I mean, we already get a number of hits ever day for 'Gay Bear Blog'. (I imagine the people who find us that way are rather disappointed...)

Please assemble it! I want a copy! For educational purposes, you know, so I will recognize the players in their formations and in pile ups, even when I can't see the numbers on their jerseys. I want to be a more informed Bears fan!

I can assemble that "Bear Butts" calendar for you (ahem, I mean for your sister/aunt/niece/mom/girlfriend), all you have to do is ask.

My dad tells me that when I was very young my comprehension of football was I threw the ball and then demand he chase me around and tickle me. Then, I'd say "Daddy, why does Nate Longshore hate rainbows, lollipops, and happiness?

So, even at a very young age, I *still* knew more than HydroTech.
