In a video on calbears.com Slocom mentioned that they are working on the "new offense" so Cignetti must have put some new wrinkles in.

Kenwick Thompson reads our blog!

You're right though, it's football, not sex. I just wish Nate could throw it harder and longer than he does. Look at his fourth quarter numbers, his stamina isn't very good either. And when hot sweaty defensive linemen are penetrating, about to gang tackle him, I wish he would hit the hole faster.

I am also worried we'll really miss Stevens this year. What can the offense do to mitigate the lack of a great blocking TE? Different formations, motion?

First off, many thanks, CBKWit. Many thanks.

Second, Dunbar wouldn't cuss much. He would yell occasionally, but his voice wasn't that strong. He sort of had a soft hoarse voice. So even though he was yelling, it was almost the equivalent of just loud talking. It will be interesting to see how Cignetti coaches this Saturday.

Third, the fact that players lined up in the wrong formation is interesting. It could mean one of many things. (1) New terminology brought in by Cignetti or just new terminology by Tedford. (2) Brain farts by younger players. (3) New formations. What's interesting is that the QB on that play didn't catch the mistake. Who was the QB? And who were the players that lined up in the wrong formation? While the receivers and backs can easily be blamed for not knowing where they are supposed to go, I know Tedford would be upset with the fact that the QB didn't catch the mistake. Part of that offense-management skill that JT looks for is the QB's ability to control (and know) the offense.
