Tomorrow (Wednesday) is signing day.

The latest scoop is that Michigan commit Sam McGuffie (runningback from Texas) visited Cal on an official visit last weekend and like what he saw from Tedford & Co.  McGuffie is a highly rated runningback that is rated four stars by both Rivals and Scout.  He is considered one of the top 10 runningbacks in the nation.  Michigan is still probably more likely to land him than Cal, but apparently Cal isn’t just in the back of his head either.  

Similarly, Cal has also been making a last effort push to sway another commitment from a rival school.  He’s a fairly high rated player that could break the starting lineup next year, but there’s no guaranty he’ll sign with Cal as since the school he is committed to is probably still the favorite to land him. 

Anyways, I suppose by the time most of you guys/gals are reading this, the LOI signing period will have started.  Recruits can fax in their LOIs at 7 am local time (I could be wrong and maybe it’s 8 am local time - I forgot).  Meaning, Cal could start getting some faxes at around 5 am from our Texas commitments. 

I’ll try and put up updates as soon as I know, and as soon as I get time between classes.

The Tedford imposter is at it again!  After duping some sort of hapless Nevada-resident (as if living near Reno isn’t bad enough), now he’s coming after me.  I received this email today from Coach Tedford:

But now I think it’s a fake for 2 clear reasons:

1.  Even though it is sent from "Jeff Tedford", the email address listed is from Cal Athletics.  I’m assuming Coach Tedford’s real email is YHWH@God.com, so there’s definitely something fishy there. 

2.  It’s inviting me to something called a "Woman’s Basketball Game."   Might as well be an invite to the "Cal 2006 Rose Bowl Parade"  if you are going to invite me to ridiculously fake events.  I bet if I go to the game (if it even exists), not only will there be no ticket deal, it will have been played the day before at the opponent’s stadium.  This Tedford imposter is sick.  Just sick! 

This Tedford imposter MUST be stopped!   First, he dupes some random kid into national embarassment and now this.  Is there no end to the madness????  Ai!

 

PS  Just to make it clear, this post is tongue in cheek.  You should all support the team and go to the game!  It’s a great year for Cal women’s b-ball!
