OH MY
SCIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMSOMS. That was insane. That is not a game Ill forget too soon. It went back and forth and back and forth. My heart goes out to Longshore battling through the pain there. I hope that he gets healthy. Goddamn, I hope he gets healthy.
Offensive player of the game- DeSean. No brainer! And that 1 TD where he just turned on the jets. He was just all "Hey, how you doing? Oh that’s great yeah, look, I gotta go, we’ll talk later, though, don’t worry." He then made the international symbol for "call me." Damn, I mean damn.
Defensive player of the game - Whole defense. Classic Bend but don’t break D, there. Especially in the first half. All my friends agreed at half, Cal was lucky to only be down 7. Oregon couldn’t throw, but man could they run. And we had tackling problems. It seemed like we could stop them behind hte line of scrimmage, but couldn’t complete the tackle. Then, in the 3rd I felt they stepped up. But in the 4th it got iffy again. Thank God, they finally got some turnovers there.
Certainly I wish that Cal had done more with the 2 of those turnovers. And certainly I thought that FG was good. But I will take it. It was a divine miracle from on high. Thankfully, they were just going for the tie. If Oregon was going for the win, there’d be a lot of Oregon fans talking smack about how Oregon basically won except for the Deus Ex Machina. Since it was just to tie, that removes that line of whine.
Speaking of Oregon fans, all this week I noticed that they were acting very unreasonable. As I noted earlier in the week with my "Why" post, Cal fans were really nervous going in. Ducks fans were boasting as if the game was already won. Cal fans were all "If Longshore is good and if the D can hold and if and if and if, we could win." Ducks fans were all "If a terrible bus accident occurs and the Ducks team is injured, Cal can win." I’ve never been a big fan of being a sore winner. But I can’t think of a better time than now. Well, unless we beat USC. Thats a better time. Maybe we should just mock USC fans for us beating Oregon. Doesn’t make much sense, but then again neither did all the stuff Oregon fans were saying before the game about this being an easy Ducks victory.
Fouts needs to be banned from doing an Oregon game. He was actively rooting for the Ducks. It was obscene. After Oregon TDs, I thought they’d go to the booth and he’d have his shirt off, rubbing his nips.
So, those are just some quick thoughts. I’m sure gallons of e-ink will be spilled on this instant classic. We will have first hand accounts and photos from Ragnarok as soon as he gets over his upcoming hangover. Let’s root for Auburn tonight, so not only can Cal move up to 3, but maybe if Florida then knocks off LSU, Cal could be the #2 team in the nation without even suiting up.
OHMYSCIENCE!!!!!!!!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEARS!

Yes, Go Auburn beat Florida AND Go Dawgs, beat the condoms..er uh the Trojans!

Fouts was wearing his old Oregon jersey under the suit. I’m surprised he didn’t try to suit up late in the 4th to replace Dixon.

You couldn’t be more right about Fouts. I wanted to turn off the sound and use my XM feed, but that was coming from Oregon. Starkey, while good, also tends toward negativism, especially in tight situations, so I was happy that my AM reception was poor (but, I would take Starkey any day over Fouts…)
Although Auburn is ahead 14-0 at the half, its too early to hope for yet another, higher-ranked upset. Ditto, U$C only up by three (17-14) over Washington at the half.
Something’s in the air today with all these ranked team losses. Even LSU showed some vulnerability against Tulane (which, I’m sure was just a case of looking ahead to next weekend’s game with the Gators.)
All of a sudden, the Red River whatever (Rivalry? Shootout? Quilting Bee?) isn’t about much more than a division title.
I will say, Washington is looking pretty scary. But, even though UCLA is (finally) taking it to Oregon State, I’m not too worried about either the Bruins on the road or the Beavers at home.
The bye couldn’t come at a better time. We need to heal and rest. Whatever happened to Longshore will hopefully be resolved within a few days. Just imagine what our defense would have looked like today with Folett, Davis, and all the other injured players.
Rest, Bears, rest. You’ve earned it!

woah. I was watching that ucla-osu game earlier and it was like 14-12. I just checked it and UCLA scored 28 points in the 4th. Petros Pepawhatever must be unhappy!

Err, won’t we be #3? Florida, WVU, OU lost. LSU, USC still ahead of us (though USC’s game isn’t over yet)

This post was made before Auburn beat Florida, so it does not reflect the fact that Cal will move up to #3.

Cal will be #3 for sure. Hopefully we won’t look too far ahead and do well in the next few road games. It sucks that we play USC so late in the season as the loser will probably fall behind a few teams in the rankings. Hopefully that will be a exciting close game too. Who shares my dream.. CAL vs. LSU national title game. I want les miles..
