Why Are We Still Cooperating With MGoBlog?
Because we’re nice, that’s why. You’ve probably already seen this week’s polls, which have our Bears at eighth in the land, but have you seen our Top 25 for this week? No, because I just put it up! Just like last week, our Bears are higher in our composite rankings than they are in either the USA Today or AP poll, and that’s mostly because of me, because I’m irrationally exuberant. I also keep dumping money into the stock market hoping it’ll turn around, but I should probably just go ahead and buy a plasma TV instead. I don’t think our rankings are terribly out of line, although I remain baffled by the BlogPoll’s continued low ranking of Rutgers. Or maybe they’re just not fully updated yet, because they have Georgia ranked tenth. That’s disgusting.
As for last weekend’s Pick’Em, we’re all awful and might as well give up. Seriously. Out of 39 games over the past two weekends, the highest score is 26 (take a bow, papermike!). Which is pretty damn awful. I picked 10/20 last weekend and managed to move up in the rankings. Now that’s awful. Of course, there have been a lot of upsets recently, so maybe it’s more exciting this way, but I prefer to do well. Now if only I knew what I was thinking when I picked Ohio State to cover the spread. I’m never picking them again.
