Opponent Roundup
In the same vein as the Around the Internet posts that I do each Friday, I thought it might be a good idea to do a roundup of that week’s upcoming opponent, with news and analysis about that team. Without any further ado…
- Have you ever wanted a Tennessee playbook, circa 2002? They went 8-5 that year, with an offense that ranked 85th in the country. So maybe you don’t want that playbook - well, here it is anyway! But let’s be honest, how much do you think it’s changed since then, David Cutcliffe aside? I’m not entirely sure I’d pay 25 dollars for it, if it turned out that their playbook were actually this.
- Oh no! Erik Ainge’s pinky! Between Robert Meachem bolting to the NFL, LaMarcus Coker being suspended, Ainge’s pinky, and Syd’Quan Thompson no longer playing in a cast…ah, you’re right. The Vols are still going to roll us. (100% SARCASM)
- Phil Fulmer just bought himself some job security (check the right sidebar). Literally. I wouldn’t call this the cheap way out, since it isn’t cheap in the literal sense, but come on.
- Our friends over at Vol Nation discuss in their forums the niceties of frat row and how it’s probably a good idea to avoid them altogether. Except Theta Chi! Go visit Theta Chi.
- The Volunteers might look to go no huddle a little more often than you’d expect.
- I hadn’t noticed this when it happened, but LaMarcus Coker has been reinstated. He won’t practice or play against Cal, however. Go Bears.
- You’ve probably heard about Eric Berry already, and he’s likely to be matched up with THA1 for most of the game. I don’t want to say he’s going to get toasted, but…he’s going to get toasted.
- Here’s something to get you nice and fired up.
- This is a good idea for a weekly post that we might decide to poach for ourselves from Rocky Top Talk. I’m sure eating a Volunteer would get into all kinds of human rights violations though, not to mention a visit from the police.
wow just look at how packed that stadium is! no wonder you need to hand out megaphones to a whopping 75,000 fans.
