Words.Cannot.Describe V
This is the 5th part in the narrative of the Cal FanFest 2007. Please read the earlier portions first to be up to date.
The narrative picks up as we leave Coach Tedford and the Axe. After that, we headed over to a table full of D players. On the way there, we saw a guy with the name Bishop on his jersey and a #10. Must be only one person. Devin Bishop! I didn’t get a photo of him, but he did sign the hat. I thanked him for choosing Cal. I was going to make a Terry Mixon comment, but decided not to. Take the high road.
While we were waiting in line, Bernard Hicks just happened to be making his way down the line. Very nice of him to do so.
He called me boss when he signed my hat. I’m not sure if I am actually his boss, but I’ll take it.
The line was not too long and we got up to the table fairly quickly. Follett was there, signing stuff with the extra ink from his hair.
While he signed my hat, I said I had my hair that way at my bar mitzvah. "People were angry, but who cared? I was a man!"
Then, we just went down the line of players and they signed my hat all over the place.
Man, Syd Quan’s hair is so crazy. To continue to run that bar mitzvah joke into the ground, I told him that at my bar mitzvah I had my hair the same way. Couldn’t have told us apart. We looked like brothers. I don’t think it worked as well that time.
I told this dude that Follett had clearly dominated him in the hair-dying game. He agreed. And quickly! Follett dominates all!!!
Robert Peele was at the end. He seemed very nice.
We were on our way out when they announced that there were only ten minutes left. Forsett and some others were working overtime. And the line had decreased quite significantly. So, we just jumped right into it.
Ok, so Shneider’s not on the O-Line, but he was still allowed to sit there.

On the way out, we ran into Van Hoesen. He went for the whole geek-jock chic with those glasses.
Then, we ran into Thomas DeCoud. He seemed incredibly nice. And when we were standing there to get an autograph, this older gentleman asked us who DeCoud was. I said that it was Thomas DeCoud and he was a D player on the team. The gentleman said he was just joking and that he was DeCoud’s dad. He also pronounced it DayCoud instead of DeCoud. I joked around about how I should have tried to keep DeCoud humble by not knowing who he was. "I dunno, some dude. He’s wearing a jersey, I’ll get his autograph." So, if DeCoud screws something up this year, bc he’s too arrogant to practice, blame The California Golden Blogs. But if he (and the Cal team) totally kick butt this year, make sure to check us out every day!
And thus ended quite possibly the greatest two hours anybody has ever had ever. Who could have had a better two hours? I mean just look at this:
It was like a being in a candy shop. It pumped us all up for the upcoming season. And I keep emailing all my friends who were there with me to remind them how we all met Tedford 2 days ago. I can’t wait to go back next year!
