Around the Internet
Later edition than usual today, but that’s because I lost my wallet this morning on my way to work. Pro: I didn’t have to go to work, my boss was cool about it, and he even offered to lend me money. Con: I lost my wallet.

TOO MUCH ROD BENSON! We’ve talked about him briefly before, and I don’t really understand how we managed to neglect his blog at the time, but there it is. Warning: just may be too much Rod Benson.

Scout.com article here (credit reader DJax…is that you, DeSean?) - I know I said I’d never link to them again, it’s pretty hard to fudge up empirical data - that suggests the ACC is the strongest conference in college football. It’s hard to make that argument when Wake Forest is your BCS representative, so what all this really should mean is that conference strength is cyclical.
-
More empirical data from Scout.com here - that’s what I like - saying that Cal has the same number of preseason junior All-Americans as all twelve SEC schools combined. Who sucks now? Our seniors…let’s not get into that.

And one last note from our favorite website here - as always, consider the source, but this seems more likely than not to be true anyway:
California’s game-breaking receiver and return specialist DeSean Jackson is telling people this will be his last season on the college field as he intends to make the jump to the NFL in ‘08. Golden Bear coach Jeff Tedford has also told people he expects to lose Jackson to the NFL.
