Two articles from the Chronicle that are pertinent to the Memorial Stadium Upgrade.
1. Earthquake Study Finds Cal Sports Center Site Fault-Free. Pretty self-explanatory. The judge ordered more tests and so Cal hired a top notch company to do those tests. Results come out. We win!
2. On the State of Schools and Schooling: On Solid Ground. Chronicle Editorial about the Memorial Upgrade. One of the few pro-upgrade pieces I have seen from them. No mention of the Mayan Calendar or Runnie Dun shooting cops with some kind of complex karma gun. Just talks about how rigorous the tests were that were done on the stadium. And how they all came out well for the good guys. And the important safety need for doing the upgrade. Very good piece for Cal.
They even have a sweet photo of Memorial Stadium during what I can only hope is a Cal victory:
It is good to see some positive news coming out of the usual negative Chronicle. With all the news about Billy Donovan, we see how easy it is for some pro team to wave a LOT (and I mean a LOT) of cash around and snatch up a talented coach. Donovan looked poised to spend the rest of his career at Florida and end up with a wing of the library named after him. Then, out of the blue, he’s the coach for the Magic.
So, until we get this Memorial Upgrade done, it’s not easy to rest on our laurels with Tedford. If the pro ranks can get Billy Donovan, they can get Jeff Tedford. We NEED to get this Upgrade done. And this is another successful step in that direction.
Go Bears!
