On the way to and back from the rugby game today (which we lost), I stopped by to see my BEST FRIEND FOREVER Zachary "RunningWolf" Brown or Runnie Dub as I like to call him. He was doing one of his 435-part series "Better Know A Berkeley Radical" to an ethusiastic audience (not pictured: audience. not there: audience). I actually didn’t quite hear/pay any attention to what he was saying as I was experiencing Asian cartoon-esque seisures thanks to his tasteful pants. I can only assume it was about the Mayan Calendar.
"2012. They’ll get their by 2012."
I’m not sure exactly what he was talking into. It amplified his voice, I don’t know if it recorded it. There were only about 4 other people in the surrounding area. But I do know he was ready for his close up.
Here we see Zachary Runningwolf Brown in his natural habitat, expressing the most happiness he’s ever felt. Also, clearly not dead.
When I came back after the game to take the photo with him, he was talking with a few people. I actually did not want to be rude, because I knew anything I did would reflect upon Cal and Cal students. So, I was really nice, saying "Mr. Runningwolf, can I please take a photo with you?" He was very obliging, but also very confused as to why. I didn’t stay to talk, because I again did not want to say anything rude. I’m sure they already have negative views of us Cal fans (as evidenced by their HELL shirts in the Script Cal), so the best things to do would be treat them with kindness and respect. Swearing or being angry is only going to validate their pre-conceived notions. So, I took my photo(s) and skeedadled, wishing them a great day.
And I of course didn’t mention that he was violating the UCPD order to stay away from that area. Now, that would just be rude.
And then afterwards, we went to get our nails done and pig out on a gallon of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. There’s nothing better to complain about boys to than a galloon of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough with the world’s foremost expert of ancient old growth oak trees, ancient Indian burial grounds, and killing police officers karmically.
I’ll put a post up about the rugby game in the next few days. It was a fun day, but we lost 30-36. I have no idea about rugby, but had a great time and took TONS of photos. Until then, I’ll leave you the two bestest friends EVER!
